The return of the PDA

Most business professionals was not too long ago, used to carry a mobile phone and a PDA or handheld computer. Originally, the handheld only powerful enough to organize contact list, result files with external storage and perhaps play voice if it had that option. Of the early Song had handheld advanced sufficiently to provide built-in wi-fi and bluetooth, color screen, mp3 playback and more. The only thing that most PDA is lacked was the ability to make a call. Then came the Apple iPhone.

Smartphones quickly took the place of the venerable PDA, partly led by the explosive adoption of iPhone. Since then, been a kaleidoscope of different smart devices each one eclipsing the power and feature set of the previous model. Also Palm, which helps the pioneering handheld, finished eventually producing handhelds for create a smartphone that effectively closed the door on the market PDA. At the end of 2006, most believe that the handheld was officially obsolete.

Today, the iPad, opened the door on a new market in shiny Tablet PC. This has seen multiple vendors create an "iPad, killer" device designed to take market share from Apple. In the process, consumers are introduced to different devices with an abundance of features, storage options, planning practices, etc. Companies such as Toshiba, Samsung and Google have very big task to convince consumers to choose their specific model over the other guys model. These companies must also convince the consumer that they need to perform a Tablet device in addition to the smartphone as they are already carrying ... again. Now in all fairness, it is quite possible to keep only one drive, if necessary, but if you need to call someone, is planning to carry the phone in addition to your Tablet computer when you are out and about.

Some would say that Tablet PCs today bear zero resemblance to your handheld. In fact, most people want to point out how much more powerful Tablet is compared to a PDA. Multi-tasking operating systems come standard with today's products. PDA best simply does not have this ability. With today's drives, you can store gigabytes of music, stream video, surf the internet without error and in some cases, the tablet can also be used as a mobile hotspot. Yet the tablet that also carry files and documents, arranges contacts and notes. All tablets included a Calendering applications or any type of ability to synchronize data with your PC contact management choices. Let's see, document tracking/storage, file exchange, pc compatibility, music playback, and internet connections. The modern Tablet PC has all the features anyone would want for their mobile computing needs. Just like a PDA.
